Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Ideaxecution Technologies (“Ideaxecution”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), a company registered in India, collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information in connection with the Nix macOS application (the “App”) and the Nix pages on ideaxecution.com (together, the “Services”). Nix removes macOS applications together with the leftover files they leave behind.

We are the data controller for the personal information described here. If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the Services.

1. Quick summary

  • Nix scans your Mac locally. We never receive your files, file contents, file paths, or the list of apps installed on your Mac.
  • Nix does send us device and diagnostic information about the Mac it runs on — including hardware specs, macOS and app version, language/region, your IP address and the country derived from it, and a device identifier. After you buy a license, this is linked to your license and purchase email.
  • If you join the waitlist, we collect the details you submit (name, email, country, phone).
  • Purchases are processed by our Merchant of Record, Dodo Payments; we never see your full card number.
  • We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising.

2. Who we are & how to contact us

Data controller: Ideaxecution Technologies. Privacy & grievance contact: contact@ideaxecution.com. For users in India, this is also our grievance contact under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the “DPDP Act”).

3. Information we collect

3.1 Waitlist sign-ups

If you join the Nix waitlist, we collect the name, email address, country, and phone number you submit, plus the date and time of submission. We use Google reCAPTCHA on this form to reduce spam and abuse (see §6).

3.2 Purchases

Purchases of Nix Pro are processed by Dodo Payments, which acts as the Merchant of Record (seller of record) and handles your payment, billing details, and applicable taxes. We receive a record of the purchase, your license key, and the email address used at checkout. We do not receive or store your full payment-card number. Dodo’s handling of your data is governed by Dodo’s own privacy policy.

3.3 Device & diagnostic information from the App

When you use Nix, the App automatically collects basic information about the Mac it runs on and sends it to our servers. This collection is part of how the App operates. After you activate a license, the device record is associated with your license key and purchase email. We collect:

Field What it is
Device identifier A random identifier for your Nix installation.
License key Your Nix Pro license key (after purchase), used to link the device to your license.
Email The email used at purchase (after purchase), to link the device to your account and provide support.
Mac model & model name e.g. MacBookPro18,1 / “MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2021)”.
Processor architecture & cores Apple Silicon or Intel, and the number of CPU cores.
Memory (RAM) The amount of installed memory.
Disk capacity & free space Total and available disk space.
macOS version & app version Your macOS release and the Nix version.
Language / region (locale) Your system language and region setting.
IP address & country The IP address of your connection and the country derived from it.
First seen / last seen Timestamps of the first and most recent contact from the App.

An IP address combined with a persistent device identifier is treated as personal data under the GDPR and the DPDP Act. We use this information as described in §5.

3.4 Website logs, cookies & analytics

Like most websites, our hosting servers automatically log standard request data (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) for security and reliability. Our website uses only the essential cookies needed to operate the site and the reCAPTCHA service; we do not use advertising cookies.

4. What we never collect

  • The contents of your files.
  • Your file names or file paths.
  • The list of applications installed on your Mac.

The scan that finds leftover files runs entirely on your device. Only the device and diagnostic fields in §3.3 leave your Mac.

5. How we use your information

  • To provide, activate, and support the App and your license (including device/seat limits and fraud prevention).
  • To understand which Macs and macOS versions to support, and to improve Nix’s compatibility, performance, and features.
  • To process and deliver your purchase (via Dodo) and provide customer support.
  • To communicate with you about the waitlist, your purchase, updates, and security.
  • To secure the Services, detect abuse, and comply with legal, accounting, and tax obligations.

6. Third parties & service providers

We share personal information only with providers that help us run the Services, and only as needed:

  • Dodo Payments — payment processing and Merchant of Record.
  • Google reCAPTCHA — spam/abuse protection on the waitlist form (subject to Google’s privacy policy).
  • Brevo — sending waitlist and transactional emails.
  • Our hosting provider — hosting the website and the licensing/diagnostics backend.

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

7. Legal bases (EEA / UK)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (to provide the App and your license); legitimate interests (to secure, support, and improve the Services, including device/diagnostic collection and fraud prevention); consent (e.g. joining the waitlist); and legal obligation (tax and compliance). Where we rely on legitimate interests, you may object as described in §10.

The device/diagnostic collection in §3.3 currently operates without an in-app opt-out. If you are in the EEA/UK and do not wish this information to be collected, please do not install the App and contact us to exercise your rights.

8. International data transfers

We are based in India and use service providers that may process data in other countries. Where required, such transfers are made under appropriate safeguards (such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent mechanism).

9. Data retention

We keep waitlist data until you ask us to remove it or the waitlist is retired. We keep purchase and license records for as long as needed for support, warranty, accounting, and tax obligations. We keep device and diagnostic records (including IP address) for as long as the install is active and for a reasonable period afterward (up to 24 months), after which we delete or aggregate them. You can ask us to delete your data sooner (see §10).

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any right, email contact@ideaxecution.com and we will respond within the time required by applicable law.

EEA / UK (GDPR)

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

India (DPDP Act)

You may access and correct your data, seek erasure, nominate another person to exercise your rights on your behalf, and raise a grievance with our grievance contact above.

California (CCPA / CPRA)

California residents may request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect and request deletion, and will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Children

Nix is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, by additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
